Cookie Statement

There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to. We set no cookies, we load no analytics, advertising, social or tracking scripts, and no pixel of any kind, on any page of hushjot.com or of the App at hushjot.app.

What is stored on your device

The App keeps your notes (encrypted), your preferences and your sign-in session in your browser’s own storage: IndexedDB and localStorage. That storage is strictly necessary for the App to work, is never sent to us except as the encrypted notes you sync, and is under your control: the App’s Account panel has “Remove all data from this device”, and your browser’s “clear site data” removes it too. Browsers can also delete it on their own, for example when space runs low, so export your notes to keep a copy. The account page on this site keeps your sign-in session the same way.

Paddle

The account page loads Paddle’s checkout to take payment. Paddle, as merchant of record, sets cookies of its own within the checkout for fraud prevention, to remember the transaction, and to operate its customer portal. They are strictly necessary for the purchase and are described in Paddle’s cookie policy. They are not set until you open the checkout.

Hosting

Our hosting provider, Google Firebase Hosting, does not set cookies for static pages. It records each request in a server log (see the privacy policy), which needs nothing stored on your device. Firebase Authentication, used on the account page and in the App, keeps the session in browser storage rather than in a cookie.
