Bring your notes.
Most apps export a folder of Markdown, and HushJot opens it as it is. Pick where you are coming from.
| From | Import | What comes across |
|---|---|---|
| Obsidian | Works well | Folders, [[links]] and #tags |
| Simplenote | Works well | Notes, tags, pins and dates |
| Bear | Works well | Notes and #tags; images stay behind |
| Notesnook | Works well | Notes as Markdown |
| Joplin | Works well | Notebooks as folders, notes as Markdown |
| Google Keep | Works well | Notes, checklists, labels, pins and archive |
| Standard Notes | With caveats | Plain notes; Super notes need a Markdown export first |
| Apple Notes | With caveats | Notes as Markdown, folder by folder, on macOS Tahoe or later |

Anything else
A folder or zip of .md or .txt files imports from anywhere. Folders become folders, and a note’s title is its first line, or its file name when the first line says something else.
Evernote and Notion use formats HushJot does not read yet. Their exports carry attachments and databases that a text notepad would mostly leave behind.
