Setup

Every heading has an anchor: lower case, spaces as dashes. ## Getting Started is #getting-started.

Good to know

  • A space between ] and ( breaks the link.
  • Write spaces in an address as %20.
  • To show square brackets without a link, escape them: \[not a link\].
Questions

Links, answered.

How do I make a link in Markdown?
Write the text in square brackets and the address in parentheses right after it: [text](https://example.com).
How do I link to a heading?
Use the heading’s anchor: lower case, with spaces turned into dashes, after a #. [See setup](#setup) links to ## Setup.
How do I open a link in a new tab?
Markdown has no syntax for it; the app decides. HushJot opens web links in a new tab.
How do I link to another note?
That depends on the app. In HushJot, and in Obsidian, write the note’s title in double brackets: [[Meeting notes]].

Write it, see it, keep it private.

HushJot is a Markdown notepad that opens instantly in your browser, with no account needed. Your notes are end-to-end encrypted.
