Move from Bear, tags and all.
Bear and HushJot write tags the same way, inline #tags with nesting, so they arrive working. And HushJot runs in any browser.
Export from Bear
- On a Mac, click Notes in the sidebar and press ⌘A to select every note.
- Choose File → Export Notes… (⇧⌘S), pick Markdown, and save to a new folder. Leave Bear’s option to keep tags on.
- On iPhone or iPad, select notes with a two-finger swipe, tap ⋯ → Export → Markdown.
From Bear: Export notes in different formats. Checked October 2026.
Import into HushJot
- Open hushjot.app. No account needed.
- Drop the export folder (or a zip of it) anywhere on the window. Or open Export and import (⌘J ⇧I) and choose the files there.
- Pick a folder to import into, then press Import. The summary lists anything it skipped.
What comes across
| What | Comes across? |
|---|---|
| Note text and Markdown | Yes |

Highlights ==text== | Yes |
Note links [[Title]] | Yes |
| Images and attachments | No: HushJot keeps text only, and lists what it skipped |
| Pins | No |
What you give up
Bear’s native polish on Apple devices. HushJot is text-only, so images stay behind.
