Import into HushJot

  1. Open hushjot.app. No account needed.
  2. Drop the zip anywhere on the window. Or open Export and import (⌘J ⇧I) and choose the files there.
  3. Pick a folder to import into, then press Import. The summary lists anything it skipped.
The Export and import window with files staged: Ready to import, a folder picker, and an Import button.
Staged, with a folder to import into.
The import summary: Imported 3 notes into Top level, with Show and Import more buttons.
Done. Anything skipped is listed here.

HushJot recognises a Keep export and says so in the summary. Takeout writes each note twice, as JSON and HTML; HushJot reads the JSON and ignores the copy.

Questions

How do I export my notes from Google Keep?
At takeout.google.com, deselect everything, tick Keep and create a one-time .zip export. Drop the zip onto HushJot without unzipping it.
What comes across from Google Keep?
Note text, checklists (as boxes you can tick), labels (as #tags), pins, the archive, dates and saved links. Trashed notes, images, drawings, voice notes, colours and reminders stay behind.
Do I need a HushJot account to import?
No. Open hushjot.app, choose to use it on this device only, then import. No email address, no password.
Are my notes uploaded when I import them?
HushJot reads the files in your browser and encrypts each note before storing it. Without an account nothing is sent to us; with Sync, only the encrypted notes are.
