Highlight in Markdown. ==Like a marker pen==.

Wrap the text in two equals signs on each side: ==highlighted==. It isn’t in the original Markdown or GitHub’s, but many note apps support it, HushJot and Obsidian among them.

On the left, what you type. On the right, what you get. Every result here was rendered by HushJot itself.

Questions

Highlight, answered.

How do I highlight text in Markdown?
Write ==text==, in apps that support it.
Which apps support ==highlight==?
HushJot and Obsidian among others, and Typora once it is switched on in its settings. GitHub doesn’t; there, the equals signs show as text.
What if my app doesn’t support it?
Where HTML is allowed, <mark>text</mark> works. Otherwise, use bold.

Write it, see it, keep it private.
