Markdown strikethrough. ~~Two tildes~~.

Wrap the text in two tildes on each side: ~~like this~~. Strikethrough comes from GitHub Flavored Markdown and works in nearly every modern Markdown app.

On the left, what you type. On the right, what you get. Every result here was rendered by HushJot itself.

H2O and ~not crossed out~

In HushJot, as in Pandoc, one tilde on each side is subscript. GitHub accepts one tilde as strikethrough, but two work everywhere.

Questions

Strikethrough, answered.

How do I strike through text in Markdown?
Put two tildes before and after it: ~~text~~.
Is there a shortcut?
In HushJot, select the text and press ⌘⇧X (Ctrl+Shift+X on Windows and Linux). Press it again to take it off.
Why doesn’t one tilde work?
Single tildes mean different things in different apps: strikethrough on GitHub, subscript in HushJot and Pandoc. Two tildes are strikethrough everywhere that supports it.

Write it, see it, keep it private.
